Jeffrey S. GradJeff is a graduate of
Princeton University and Columbia Law School.Originally from Massachusetts,
Jeff was employed initially in the State of Hawaii by
Boise Cascade, the developer of Waikoloa Resort, a 30,000 acre
development, on the Big Island.
While employed by Boise Cascade, he resided on the Big
Island. In 1973 he moved to Honolulu to establish a law firm with John Finney. Jeff's major clients from that time and for many years
afterward were The McCormack Corporation, it's affiliates, and its
principal, Mike McCormack.
Jeff represented McCormack in it's joint ventures with Hong Kong
and Japan-based companies, Who were developers of
commercial, residential and resort properties in Hawaii.
Jeff also represented Mike McCormack, Realtors, then the
largest real estate brokerage firm in the State of Hawaii. That
firm was subsequently merged into Coldwell Banker Pacific
Properties, the State's current largest real estate firm. Thus, Jeff's practice has evolved principally in the
representation of developers and real
estate brokers.
Additionally, Jeff has also served as an arbitrator and
expert witness in disputes involving real property matters and between joint venturers or other
co-owners of real
property.
Jeff has also provided services to the Hawaii real
estate brokerage community generally and to a large number of
individual real estate brokerage firms. Among other things, Jeff
was one of the drafters of many of the standard contracts and and
other forms published by the Hawaii Association of Realtors,
and used by real estate brokers who are members of HAR.
