Jeffrey S. Grad

Jeff is a graduate of Princeton University and Columbia Law School.

Originally from Massachusetts, Jeff was employed initially in the State of Hawaii by Boise Cascade, the developer of Waikoloa Resort, a 30,000 acre development, on the Big Island.

While employed by Boise Cascade, he resided on the Big Island. In 1973 he moved to Honolulu to establish a law firm with John Finney. Jeff's major clients from that time and for many years afterward were The McCormack Corporation, it's affiliates, and its principal, Mike McCormack.

Jeff represented McCormack in it's joint ventures with Hong Kong and Japan-based companies, Who were developers of commercial, residential and resort properties in Hawaii. Jeff also represented Mike McCormack, Realtors, then the largest real estate brokerage firm in the State of Hawaii. That firm was subsequently merged into Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, the State's current largest real estate firm. Thus, Jeff's practice has evolved principally in the representation of developers and real estate brokers.

Additionally, Jeff has also served as an arbitrator and expert witness in disputes involving real property matters and between joint venturers or other co-owners of real property.

Jeff has also provided services to the Hawaii real estate brokerage community generally and to a large number of individual real estate brokerage firms. Among other things, Jeff was one of the drafters of many of the standard contracts and and other forms published by the Hawaii Association of Realtors, and used by real estate brokers who are members of HAR.
