FAQ - Billing and Other Matters.
Q: Do you bill on an hourly or fixed fee basis?
A: Legal fees are billed on an hourly or a fixed fee basis, depending on the type of work and an agreement with the client. Our hourly rates vary and depend on type of work and who provides the service.
We add to our fees Hawaii State general excise tax, plus any costs we have advanced for disbursements on behalf of the client (recording, title reports and filing fees, for example).
We also charge interest at the rate of 1% monthly for billings remaining unpaid 30 days after billing.
To avoid any misunderstandings about billing, We generally have retainer agreements with our clients.
Q: Do you have parking for clients?
A: Parking is available within Davies Pacific Center (the building in which our firm is located). The entrance is on Alakea Street. We validate parking, and there is a 10-minute grace period for pickup and deliveries.
Q: Do you charge for the initial time spent with a client?
A: We do not charge for an initial consultation, which can be done either in person or over the phone. From such first consultation, we try to determine whether the client has a matter within our practice specialty, and whether we wish to represent the client and whether the client wishes to retain us.

A: Jeff Grad is a licensed real estate broker and member of the National Association of Realtors, Hawaii Association of Realtors(HAR) and the Honolulu Board of Realtors.
